New Patients Are Welcome!
Many patients visit our dental office for dental crowns, which restore teeth' shape and size and protect them from further damage. At St. Helena Dental Studio, dental crowns are a standard procedure for restoring damaged teeth.
To replace a missing tooth, consult our dentist on a dental bridge. We specialize in dental bridges for clients who would rather not wear dentures or undergo surgery. Using two crowns, we set the new tooth in its place. It looks natural and is made of ceramic or porcelain to match the surrounding teeth. Dr. Demetrakopulos will ensure that the new tooth is both beautiful and comfortable.
Dental Bridges and Dental Crowns at St. Helena's Office
Dental crowns and dental bridges are popular and standard teeth replacement procedures. They involve the placement of a false tooth, or teeth, onto the existing natural teeth. Crowns are used to improve a tooth's appearance or protect what has been damaged already. Our orthodontists use bridges to replace one or more missing teeth of patients. We select from various crown materials, including ceramic, porcelain, metal, or resin. In our lab, we custom-made bridges and crowns to fit them over the existing teeth. You may require only two visits to the dentist to place the crown successfully. First, the dentist will prepare the tooth by removing decay and shaping it so the crown can be placed over it. Next, a mold or impression will be made on the prepared tooth, which will be used to create the crown. During your second visit to the dental practice, our dentist will place the crown onto the prepared tooth and adjust it accordingly. Our bridges are also custom-made and use a variety of materials. The procedure for placing a bridge typically takes two visits to the dentist as well. First, the abutment teeth (on either side of the missing tooth) will be prepared by removing any decay and shaping them to support the bridge. An impression will then be made of these prepared teeth, which will be used to create the bridge. During the second visit, the bridge will be placed onto the prepared.
We use sedation dentistry to ensure you will not experience discomfort during the procedure. As a result of being prepared for dental Restoratives, your teeth will be somewhat sensitive. This is why you should wear a temporary crown until we create a permanent one.
