New Patients Are Welcome!
What Happens When You Consult Us for a Partial Denture?
When a patient is missing one tooth, our dentist may recommend a partial denture to replace the missing tooth. Here is an overview of the process we follow to replace a missing tooth with a partial denture:
Examination and Diagnosis: We will first examine the patient's mouth to determine the best course of action. They may take X-rays and impressions of the teeth to get a better understanding of the patient's oral health.
Treatment Plan: Based on the examination and diagnosis, we will create a treatment plan that outlines the steps needed to create the partial denture. This may include taking more detailed impressions of the tooth, creating a model of the patient's mouth, and selecting the materials to be used.
Preparation: If the patient has any remaining teeth supporting the partial denture, the dentist will prepare them by shaping and placing dental crowns or caps on them. Our team may recommend dental implants to support the partial denture if no remaining teeth exist.
Partial Denture Fitting: We will take another impression of the teeth and use this to create the partial denture. This process may take a few weeks, as the partial denture will need to be customized to fit the patient's mouth.
Adjustment: Once the partial denture is ready, the patient will return to our dental office for a final fitting. The dentist will adjust the dental fixture to ensure a comfortable fit and proper bite alignment.
