What This Teeth Whitening Process Is All About?
With Zoom whitening technique, you can expect a painless and comfortable experience. Our treatment is fast and typically takes less than an hour, leading to a brighter, more confident smile in no time.
When you visit our St. Helena dental practice for Zoom teeth whitening, the process typically involves the following steps:
Consultation: First, our dentist will examine your teeth and discuss your goals for the treatment. They will also check for any underlying dental issues affecting the whitening process.
Preparation: We will use a special barrier to protect your lips and gums from the whitening gel. They will also apply a retractor to keep your lips and cheeks away from your teeth, ensuring the whitening gel covers as much surface area as possible.
Whitening Gel: Next, your dentist will apply the Zoom whitening gel to your teeth. The gel contains hydrogen peroxide, the active ingredient that bleaches the stains and discoloration from your teeth.
Activation: A special light is used to activate the Zoom whitening gel. The light helps the hydrogen peroxide penetrate deep into the tooth enamel and break up the stains and discoloration.
Removal and Reapplication: The gel is removed after about 15 minutes and then reapplied for another 15-minute session. Depending on your teeth's initial staining level and desired results, additional sessions may be required.
Final Rinse and Desensitizing Gel: Once the desired level of whitening is achieved, the gel is removed, and a desensitizing gel is applied to your teeth to help reduce sensitivity.
Our team will provide aftercare instructions on maintaining your newly whitened teeth at home, such as avoiding certain foods and beverages that may stain your teeth.
